A blues scale lesson V

Lesson 5

Blues scale is deduced from the so-called minor pentatonic, but another tone (D# or Eb) is added between the third and fourth tone of the pentatonic, which means that a blues scale has six tones!

CAUTION: This tone is NOT THE BLUE NOTE!!!

The BLUE NOTE is a minor third which is played through the major –for example in the Blues or rock and roll in A  major you play the tone C (not C#), so you play a small third!!!!

Play the Blues scale in first position C Major-A Minor pentatonic, as it is shown in the  video!
